It is DONE!

3 Cheers for Jesus the ROCK Concert!

After all these months of hardwork, the team put together a truly wonderful show! In the end, every performer put their best foot forward and pulled all the right stunts in the right areas! The crew made the whole show seamless with all the buzzing that goes on behind the scenes!

A big thanks to the fabulous audience who cheered and screamed for the bands. Thank you for coming! Your presence and responsiveness was the best fuel for the team to give their 101%.

Most of all, we thank God who brought the show together and blessing us all the way. All glory be to Him!

I'll just let the pictures do the rest of the talking. You can check out the JTRC Album here.

Jesus ROCKS on Good Friday - JiaJun

Hey all!
It's been a tremendous adventure for all of us involved in the Jesus the ROCK concert, I must say...

What with the last minute added rehearsals and sudden changes in costumes and tons of other multimedia to prepare and singing and performances to tweak and improve upon, I guess we're pretty much at the stage of just trusting the Lord to pave our way and make it an exciting and worthwhile performance to watch :)

We're doing our part and I know that God is already doing His and much more. I'm excited to see what He will do on that day itself and I'm sure that many of us are anticipating the fruits of our labour as well :)

I just feel that this is just a seed offering that we're giving to the Lord and He's so pleased with it that He's going to make it bloom and grow right before our eyes.

And as for all of us who have made the sacrifices in our time, our studies, our work and family and friends (I've heard a fair share of the 'persecutions' that the youths are going through for this concert, and I'm so proud of them for just pushing on to give, despite their circumstances), I know that the Lord knows and He's going to give it back to you multiplied a few times what you've given to Him. So be assured in His great love.

Just want to share something that the Lord spoke to me on the eve of Good Friday.

I was trying to edit the Passion of Christ video, but wasn't able to do so as I had trouble importing the video files into my video editing software due to some format problems. I had tried for almost a day and a half just to get it to work so I can present it on Friday morning to Ps Jeff, but the files just refused to budge. I was so frustrated that I almost wanted to strangle someone...So I just left my desk and went into my room to pray. I decided to just take some time to cool off and be still for a while.

I began to compose myself and thought about what Good Friday meant to me. I told the Lord that I didn't want to spend my Good Friday getting frustrated at doing His work. It just doesn't make sense that I'm doing His work but yet have no time to be really quiet with Him on this important day. I told Him that I really want to just spend time remembering Him.

It was then the Lord spoke to me in His still small voice. He said, "Son, just to hear this heart from you, is enough for Me.""As much as you are doing all this for me, I want to let you know that Good Friday is for you, not for Me."

That blew my mind. Good Friday is for me. That the very reason why we have Good Friday is because He died for me.

I just felt really grateful and realised that the only way to spend Good Friday is to receive once again His unconditional love for me.

And for you, and you, and you! wherever you are out there :)
Then He continued.
"And I died only for you. I died specifically for you."

I began to see again, that the fullness of the work of the Cross was not divided among the billions of people who lived on this planet. It was directed specifically and fully for every single individual. Meaning that, even if I'm the only one on earth, He'd still die for me. Because I'm worth it, every single drop of His blood.

I was so grateful, and I just felt His peace fill my heart. I was tired, but I was refreshed in my spirt :)

As for the Passion of Christ video, the next day, the Lord provided it during our rehearsal at the Chapel. Cos another group of ppl doing outreach event that afternoon came in with a Passion of Christ edited DVD and we managed to borrow it for our concert. :P

The Lord truly provides... :)

Band of The Week - Nara's Playground

The band's named after Dylan's ex-girlfriend. He plays electric guitar, and is the only one who doesn't wear glasses. Aaron is the crooner for the band. He has curly locks and has a crush on Sharon Velari/Agathon. Ben plays drums for the band. He often thinks about playing the drums while playing the drums. Daniel plays bass.
He pours wine into a paper bag without it ever getting wet. Chee Mun plays guitar and is the latest to join the band. Before, he was the band's one-man production crew...Wanna hear them play? 13 April will be the day!

Band of The Week - Revival

The band’s musical identity was forged from the start about three years ago, with leader Wai Kay leading youths Joel, Jerald and Daniel to serve in Church’s TOUCHkids music ministry team. You will find a very jovial Lilian and expressive Leonard showcasing their vocal prowess as they synergise with the band members. Supported by Rachel on the keyboard yet again, with Lynn, Lydia, Claudia and Danae lending their voices to the act. With many of them performing live on stage first time on such a scale, they want to impact you with their passion for God and music!

Guest Blogger JERALD, Revival

Participating in the Jesus the Rock Concert has opened my eyes to so many new things. I got to meet a lot of new people, learn a lot more about stage presence and also the importance of band dynamics.

When we first started out at the Magic Box for rehearsals, I thought we wouldn't need so many practices. I thought that the songs were already good enough. However, some obstacles such as my drummer for Revival, Samuel, couldn't make it for the event. I also had no keyboardist to help me out. Thank God I found Daniel (drummer) who agreed to help us out for this event and Rachel (keyboardist) as well. Some of the problems we faced were the flow of the songs, so we actually set aside one rehearsal just to set the order of the songs two days ago on Friday 30/3/07. The band is now tighter and is almost able to meet up to our expectations.

Haha I really thank God for this band and I strongly believe He will use us in a mighty way. As a side note, I've seen the other bands perform and they're really good too. For Jacob's Dream, I would say they're very SOLID for a new band and for Nara's PG, I would say they have great talent both in songwriting and the performance of their songs. Bring your friends down and let them see how God has transformed the lives of our youths! ;-)

Free Seating

People, we are OPEN for orders! For ticketing sales and information, please drop us your request at jesustherockconcert@gmail.com . The good news is, TICKETS ARE FOR FREE! Doesn't that give you more reason to invite your friends?!

Band of The Week - Jacob's Dream

They are The New Band on the Block! Established in January 2007, fronted by lead guitarist Jian Xin and bass guitarist Zest, they are accompanied by Rachel on the keyboard and drummer Lester.

The sound of Jacob’s Dream is anything ranging from pop/rock to heavy rock and Christian rock. “To please God with the dexterity of our hands with our instruments” is their mission.

Specially for JTRC, they are teaming it with vocalist Cindy who likes music, dance, singing, shopping, eating, sleeping, anything that’s FUN and…JESUS! Let Jess, 17 captivate your attention with her soulful voice and gaze. The only male vocalist, Eddie who professes to enjoy singing, sports and billards, adds that “Jesus is totally awesome!” Joining them also are Theresa, Melanie, Adeline, Janice and Vivian doing backup vocalising. Support them, with your cheers and applauses as they perform!
